I'm actually really glad that we had this! My husband woke up and was really short of breath. He felt like there was a band around his chest. So I got the Oximeter and it showed that the amount of oxygen in his blood was around 90 when it shouldn't be lower then 95. So we went and had him checked out, and they found that there was an infection in his lungs that if not taken care of could of got really bad. The only reason he agreed to go get checked out is because of his oxygen levels. 

Anyway it's really light weight, and comes with a lanyard as well as a case. The LED screen flips so you can read it upright regardless of which hand you test on.
