I personally could not get this to work, but I think it is more to do with my laptop and not the device itself. The reason I say that is because I gave it to a friend of mine to use, and he was able to get it to work no problem. He takes it to class with him to record lectures so he can take notes off of it later. He said that he gets clear sound, and it's nice that it doesn't take up much room on his desk at all. He likes how he can put it in his pocket and still comfortably sit down.
