This is a great sketch book to have in your bag of tricks. I don't draw so I had my son help me with this review. He said that the hardcover is so much better than soft ones because this way he didn't have to worry if he had a table to sit at and draw he could just balance it on his lap and draw away. The paper is great quality and doesn't indent onto the pages under the one he is drawing on. It absorbs the color really easily so makes shading great.
