I really like that this thermometer is waterproof. Main reason being is that my husband doesn't care what the weather is like if he's going to grill than he is going to grill no matter the weather. Plus its great to be able to just put it in the dishwasher to get clean. I really like how sensitive it is too, because you can slightly move it and if the temperature is different by .1 it will show the change. You can set a a min or max temperature too. It has a sleeve that the thermometer slides into that can be used if you need to have your hand a bit further from what you're trying to check. I personally have never used it that way, but I do use the hook to keep it in my pocket, or in the tray.
